When our life is full of sorrow and troubles then we must look to God.
When our heart is full of darkness and sorrow then we look in the wrong place for then we do not look to God, for all the dark hearts can be full of light when we open our heart to God.
( Psalms 27:1 ).
There is no darkness with God. If we open our heart to God then we also live in that light of God. All of that light can be ours if we surrender ourselves to God.

If we decide not to open our heart to God then we will have to live with the darkness within our heart for we are never forced by God to live in that light of God, but we are called by God to live in the light of God.

However, Jesus Christ the Son of God came to this world from God and paid with His life for all of our sins by God to open the way for us back into that light of God.

By the grace of God through Jesus the Son of God we can live in that light from God
If we are not willing to accept that grace of God then we will always live in darkness on this world away from God, moreover, then we will die in darkness and live forever in greater darkness away from God, for in hell we cannot open our heart to God and beg for that light from God, for in hell we must live without the love of God.

When we accept Jesus the Son of God as our only lifeline from God, and ask forgiveness of our sins by God and we open our heart to God, and we surrender our life to God, then we will receive the Holy Spirit within of God if we pray to God for the indwelling of the Spirit of God.
( Luke 11:9-13 ).
When we have received the Spirit within of God then we are full of light from God, for then God lives within us by the Spirit of God.
When we accept Jesus the Son of God as our only lifeline from God, and ask forgiveness of our sins by God and we open our heart to God, and we surrender our life to God, then we will receive the Holy Spirit within of God if we pray to God for the indwelling of the Spirit of God.
( Luke 11:9-13 ).
