Christians are the children of God.
( 1 John 3:1 ).
We become children of God through Jesus Christ the Son of God.
( John 1:12 ).
To be a child of God is a gift from God for all people who open their heart to God and accept the salvation of God through Jesus Christ the Son of God.

When we are born into a family that lives for God that makes us part of God, for through our Christian father or mother we are part of God.

However, that does not make us a child of God, for to be a child of God we must be born into the family of God. We must receive a new live within from God to become a child of God and to become part of the family of God.

We all must be baptized with water to be forgiven of our sins by God, without water baptism there is no forgiveness of our sins by God, therefore we also must baptize our children for they also belong to God when their father or mother live for God.
