GOD'S PEOPLE MUST UPHOLD THE LORDS SUPPER

Posted by George Soepboer Sr.

God’s people must uphold the Lords supper for that is a command from God.

To understand the meaning of the Lord’s supper we must begin at the time when the Jewish people received the institution of the Passover from God when they were set free from the slavery of the Egyptians by God. The Jewish people were told by God that they did have to kill a lamb and eat it at the night when they were going to be set free from that slavery by God. Some of the blood of the lamb they did have to put on the outside of the door-post of their home for that was going to save their first born from the killing of the angel God, for the angel of God did on that night destroy all of the first born of the people that oppressed the people of God, therefore the Jewish people did have to place the blood of the lamb on their door post because then the angel was not going to enter their home to kill for that showed the angel that they where the redeemed people of God.
( Exodus 12:1-28 ).

The Jewish people were told by God to uphold that ritual every year to remember that liberation from God. That is why the Jewish people eat the Passover supper once a year to remember that liberation from their slavery by God.
( Exodus 12:14 ).

The last time when Jesus Christ the Son of God eat the Passover supper with the people of God He changed the Passover supper to the Lord’s supper for the people of God to remember His payment for our sins by God, for Jesus the Son of God paid for our sins with His blood on the cross to set us free from the slavery of satan and save us from the punishment in hell for our sins by God. Therefore the Christians must always keep the Lord’s supper as a reminder of the death of the Son of God, for we are redeemed from the punishment in hell for our sins by God through the blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God.
( Luke 22:14-20 )( Matthew 26:26-29 )( Mark 14:22-25 ).

The Jewish people were saved by the blood of the lamb on their door-post by God, but that was the old covenant of God. But all people are saved from the anger of God against their sins by God through the blood of the Jesus the Son of God, for the Son of God died for all people on the cross to remove the sins of all people by God, therefore the new covenant is not only for the Jewish people of God, but for all the people who are willing to embrace that covenant of God.
( 1 Peter 3:18 ).

Our sins are forgiven by God when we place our trust in the redeeming grace of God through Jesus the Son of God, for the Son of God paid with His blood on the cross to make us acceptable to God that is the new covenant of God between all the people and God.
( Romans 5:8-11 )( Revelation 7:9-17 ).

There was only one way for the Jewish people in Egypt to be saved from the destroying angel of God, if they did not place the blood of the lamb as was commanded by God then they also were going fall under the punishment of God. But if they placed the blood of the lamb on the place as commanded by God then the angel of God was not going harm them but then they were saved by God.
( Exodus 12:12-13 )

It is the same in the new covenant that the people have received from God through Jesus the Son of God. For we can never be saved from the punishment in hell for our sins by God without Jesus Christ the Son of God, for no one will ever be accepted by God without accepting Jesus the Son of God as their only Savior to God to be forgiven of their sins by God.
( John 1:12 )( John 14:6 )( 1 John 5:11-12 ).

If we seek to be accepted by God without Jesus the Son of God then we will never find a open door by God, for there is no other way to be accepted by God. Jesus the Son of God is the only mediator between us and God to open the way for us to God.
( 1 Timothy 2:5 ).

If we do not accept the redeeming grace of God through Jesus Christ the Son of God then we are condemned by God.
( John 3:16-18 ).

However, to obtain that salvation from God we must be baptized with water to be forgiven of our sins by God through Jesus Christ the Son of God, for only then are we part of the redeeming grace of God through Jesus Christ the Son of God.
( Acts 2:38 )( Acts 22:16 )
( Hebrews 10:22 )( 1 Peter 3:21 ).

Water baptism is not a option but a command from God for all the people of God, if we do not obey that command of God then we will not be accepted in the redeeming grace of God.
( Matthew 28:18-20 )( Mark 16:15-17 ).

We must not only be baptized with water to be forgiven of our sins by God, but we also must be baptized with the Holy Spirit of God.
( Joel 2:28-29 )( Matthew 3:11 )( Acts 1:5 )
( Acts 2:17-18 )( Acts 11:15-16 ).

If we are baptized with the Holy Spirit of God then we become one with God, for then God lives within us by the Spirit of God, for the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God.
( 1Corinthians 3:16-17 )( 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 )
( 2 Corinthians 6:16-17 ).

We must be baptized with water and we must be baptized with the Holy Spirit of God, for then we are complied in God, for then we have received a new life within from God and then we belong to the kingdom of God.
( John 3:3-6 ).

If we do not receive the new life within from God then we do not belong to the kingdom of God, then we also will not be accepted in heaven by God, but then we will fall under the wrath of God for then our sins remain between us and God.
( John 3:36 )( Romans 2:5 )( Revelation 14:19 ).

When we participate in the Lord’s supper then we must remember the gift of God through Jesus Christ the Son of God, for the Son of God suffered and died on the cross set us free from the wrath of God for the sins we have done to God. We must celebrate the Lord’s supper with thankfulness to God and to Jesus the Son of God, for it is the greatest gift this world has ever received from God, therefore we must have great respect for the great merciful work of God through Jesus the Son of God. If we participate in the Lord’s supper in any other way then we sin against God, and then we sin against the Son of God.
( 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 ).

When we participate in the Lord’s supper then we must not place any emphasis on the food and drink that we use to remember the suffering of Jesus the Son of God. The food and drink we use to remember the suffering of the Son of God is not Holy but must remind us of the redemption of God through the suffering of the Son of God. Because Jesus the Son of God suffered greatly on the cross to pay for or sins by God to make us acceptable by God.
( Matthew 27: 45-51 )( Mark 15:33-39 )
( Luke 23:44-45 ).

Jesus Christ the Son of God did not only pay for our sins by God for us to be accepted by God and to open the door for us in heaven by God, but the death of the Son of God also paid for us to live in friendship and fullness on this world with God, like Adam and Eve lived before they turned their back on God. Adam and Eve placed a barrier between people and God by placing this world in the power of satan when they turned their back on God, but Jesus the Son of God removed that barrier between people and God when He paid with His life on the cross for our sins by God. Therefore we can live in fellowship and fullness on this world with God like Adam and Eve lived before they turned their back on God.
( Romans 5:12-21 ).

Therefore we must not place any tribute to the food and drink at the communion supper of the Lord, but we must open our heart to God and surrender our life to God and yearn for that fellowship with God, for all of the fullness of God can be ours through Jesus Christ the Son of God.
( Colossians 1:19 ).

All of the Jewish people did have to celebrate the Passover feast with their families that were a order from God. Young and old did have to celebrate the Passover feast to remember the freedom gift they received from God, for they were set free from the slavery in Egypt by God.
Also children were part of that feast from God, for that was the way and will of God. It also was not a option for them to uphold the Passover feast for God, but it was a command from God.
( Exodus chapter 12 ).

The Jewish people were told by God to circumcise their children to become part of that first covenant with God, they were not told by God to let the children make that decision for God, but the parents did have to make that decision for their children for their children also belong to God.
( Genesis 17:12-13 ).

The celebration of the Lord’s supper is also not a option for the people of God but it is also commandment from God. And our children also belong to that covenant of God, therefore we must baptize our children when they are born with water to be forgiven of their sins by God to make them part of new covenant of God, and then our children must also partake of the Lords supper for our children also belong to God.
( Acts 2:37-39 ).

When our children are baptized with water then they may and must participate in the Lord’s supper for that is the will and way of God. Jesus the Son of God did not ask His people to participate in the supper of the Lord, but Jesus the Son of God give them a command to remember Him through the Supper of the Lord. Therefore all of God’s people and their children must participate in the Lord’s supper to remember the great gift they received from God through Jesus Christ the Son of God, in the same way as the whole Jewish family participated in the Passover of God to remember the freedom they received from the slavery in Egypt from God.
( Luke 22:19-20 ).

We must participate in the Lord’s supper until the return of Jesus the Son of God, for we may never forget the great gift of salvation from God through Jesus the Son of God, for that is the only way anyone will ever be accepted by God.
( 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 ).

However, we must never place emphasis on the communion supper we use to remember the death of our Lord, for the food and drink we take is not holy but the food and drink we take must point us to the redemption of God through Jesus Christ the Son of God, for we are made free from the punishment of our sins by God through the suffer of the Son of God, therefore the food and drink we use is not holy but the redemption of God through Jesus Christ the Son of God is Holy to God.
( John 3:16-18 ).

All of the people of God are welcome to the supper of the Lord including our children for they also belong to the kingdom of God.
( Matthew 19:13-14 ).

For the children of Christian parents are holy to God because their parents belong to God, therefore through their parents children also belong to God.
( 1 Corinthians 7:14 ).

We must all come together with the Lords supper to give thinks to God and Jesus Christ the Son of God for the salvation of God through Jesus Christ the Son of God. We must not come to the supper of the Lord to prove that we are worthy of coming to the supper of the Lord for no one is worthy to be accepted by God. We must humbly participate in the supper of the Lord to remember the love of God through Jesus Christ the Son of God.
( John 3:16-18 ).

If we belittle the great gift of God through the suffering of Jesus Christ the Son of God by not showing respect for God and the Son of God then we will be punished by God, for then we do not give our love to God and the Jesus the Son of God, but then we mock God and the Son of God.
( 1 Corinthians 11:28-29 ).

We may never remove ourselves from participation in the supper of the Lord because we do not feel worthy to participate in the supper of the Lord, for if we can make ourselves worthy then we do not need to participate in the supper of the Lord. We do not participate in the Lord’s supper to prove that we are worthy but to show our unworthiness before God. All people may and must come to the supper of the Lord to show our thankfulness to God for sending Jesus the Son of God to redeem us from our sins by God. If we come for that reason to the supper of the Lord then we are all welcome by God for that is why Jesus the Son of God was send to this world by God.
( Romans 14:1-12 )( Colossians 2:8-19 ).

We all stand in need of the sacrifice of Jesus the Son of God if we wish to accepted by God, that is why we must come to the supper of the Lord to confess that we need the grace of God through Jesus Christ the Son of God.
( Ephesians 2:4-9 ).

The food and drink we use at the Lords supper represents the Lord, but the food and drink is not the Lord. The food and drink is not the Lord it only points us to the Lord, therefore the food and drink at the Lord’s supper is not the body and blood of the Lord, but it represents the body and blood of Jesus our Lord.
( Matthew 26:26-28 )( Mark 14:22-24 ).

When Jesus told the disciples that the bread was His body and the wine was His blood then Jesus did not speak of His body that He received on this world from God, but Jesus spoke of the Spirit of God that people were going to receive within of God if they placed their trust in Jesus Christ the Son of God to be forgiven of their sins by God.
( John 6:41-63 ).

All Christians young and old must participate in the ceremonial ritual of the supper that was instituted by Jesus our Lord to remember the death of Jesus our Lord, for only through the death of Jesus Christ the Son of God are we accepted by God, and only through Jesus Christ the Son of God can we inter into heaven by God, for He give His body and blood to have our sins removed by God.
( Luke 22:19-20 ).

But we me may never misuse the ceremonial ritual of the supper of our Lord for then we abuse Jesus Christ our Lord, for if we eat carelessly at the supper of the Lord then we belittle the death and suffer of Jesus Christ our Lord.
( 1 Corinthians 11:17-33 ).

If we belittle the suffer of Jesus Christ the Son of God then we outrage God for then insult God, for only through the suffering and death of Jesus the Son of God can we enter into the love of God. If we ignore or belittle that great gift of love from God through Jesus Christ the Son of God then we are condemned by God, for only through the suffering and death of the Son of God are we accepted by God.
( John 3:16-18 ).

However, perfection is not required by God before we participate in the ceremonial ritual of the supper of our Lord for no one is perfect but God, and no one will ever be perfect but God. But through the suffering of Jesus the Son of God are acceptable by God, for Jesus the Son of God paid with His life for that standard of perfection for us by God, Therefore our sins and imperfections may not hold us from participating in the ceremonial ritual of the supper of our Lord for we all have sinned against God. But if we open our heart to God and seek for mercy by God then all of our sins are covered by God through Jesus Christ the Son of God That is the only reason why we must participate of the ceremonial ritual of the supper of our Lord.
( John 3:14 ).

It is the Son of God that saved us from the wrath of God for our sins by God, for He paid for all of them sins on the cross for us by God.
( 1 Peter 3:18 ).

It is not the food and drink that we use the remember the suffer of Jesus for out sins by God that has any value to God, but the suffering and death of Jesus Christ the Son of God only has value by God, therefore we must never seek holiness in the food and drink that we use to remember the suffer of Jesus Christ the Son of God for then we worship the food and drink but then we do not worship God and the Son of God. But we are accepted by our faith in God through the suffer of Jesus the Son of God.
( Ephesians 2:8- )( Hebrews 10:38 )

The body and blood of Jesus the Son of God is not in the food and drink that we receive at the ceremonial ritual of the supper of the Lord, but the ceremonial ritual of the supper of Jesus our Lord must point us to Jesus our Lord. In the same way as God’s people in the wilderness did have look at the snake on the pole to be healed by God, so we must believe in the saving grace of God through Jesus Christ the Son of God to be healed from our sins by God.
( John 3:14-18 )( Numbers 21:4-9 ).
