When Christians take an oath then they sin against God.
At the beginning when people were created by God then they lived in fullness with God, it was natural for people to speak the truth for they lived in harmony with God because they lived by the Spirit within them of God. The people lived that way on this world with each other and with God until people turned their back on God.

When Adam and Eve opened their heart and mind to satan and turned their back on God then they removed themselves from God and then they lost their fellowship with God, for then the Spirit of God was removed from within them by God, for we cannot open our heart to satan and live in fellowship with God.

All sorts of evil formed on this world after people decided to turn their will to satan instead of living in fellowship and fullness on this world with God. However, to live in friendship with God we must accept the salvation of God through Jesus the Son of God, for the Son of God paid for all of our sins by God for us to be accepted by God. And then we must repent of our sins by God, and open our heart to God, and surrender our life to God. And then we can ask for the indwelling of the Spirit of God. If we truly open our heart to God and we fully surrender our life to God then we will receive the Spirit within of God if we humbly ask for the indwelling of the Spirit of God by God.
However, to live in friendship with God we must accept the salvation of God through Jesus the Son of God, for the Son of God paid for all of our sins by God for us to be accepted by God. We are not free from temptations after we have received the new life within from God for we are never forced by God to obey God, like Adam and Eve we always have the freedom from God to obey or disobey God. But if we live by the Spirit within us of God then we may not open ourselves to sin for then we must always seek to obey God, for when we receive a new life within from God then we may not seek the things of satan but then we must always seek the things of God.

Therefore we must set aside all the wrong things of our old way of life when we are renewed within by God and we must live by the Spirit within us of God.
